Present Perfect Tense Passive Voice Exercises with Answers

Today, we will learn how to change the Present Perfect tense active voice into a passive voice. Through these examples, you will be able to understand the rules for changing the active voice of Present Perfect tense into a passive voice.

Structure of Active and Passive Voice in Present Perfect Tense


Active Voice

 Subject +has/have +  past participle (V3)+ object


Passive Voice 

 Object  +  has/have +been+ past participle (V3)+ by+ subject

 

Rules for changing from Active to Passive


1.  Identify the object in the active sentence and make it the subject of the passive sentence.


2.  Use has/have according to the new subject (object of active voice)


3.  Use ‘been’ and past participle (V3)


4.  Write  'subject' at the end of passive after ‘by’.


5.  Unnecessary subjects can be omitted.


Examples Active -Passive


      1.            She has written a letter.

    P.V. – A letter has been written by her.


      2.           They have eaten apples.

P.V. – Apples have been eaten by them.


     3.              He has sung a song.

P.V. – A song has been sung by him.


     4.          The teacher has taught English.

P.V. -English has been taught by the teacher.


      5.             She has cooked food.

P.V. – Food has been cooked by her.


       6.          We have watched movie.

P.V. – Movie has been watched by us.


      7.            He has watered the plants.

P.V. – The plants have been  watered by him.


       8.           She has washed the clothes.

P.V. – The clothes have been washed by her.


      9.               They have cleaned the house.

P.V. – The house has been cleaned by them.


    10.               The shopkeeper has sold fruits.

P.V. – Fruits have been sold by the shopkeeper.


    11.          The students have learnt the lessons.

P.V. -The lessons have been learnt by the students.


    12.                He has checked emails.

P.V. – Emails  have been checked by him.


    13.                My mother has cooked cake.

P.V. – Cake has been cooked by my mother.


    14.                My father has read newspaper.

P.V. – Newspaper has been read by my father.


    15.                She has designed a website.

P.V. – A website has been designed by her.


    16.                The farmer has grown crops.

P.V. – Crops have been grown by the farmer.


    17.                The dog has chased the cat.

P.V. – The cat has been chased by the dog.


    18.                She has decorated the room.

P.V. – The room has been decorated by her.


    19.                He has solved puzzles.

P.V. – Puzzles have been solved by him.


    20.                They have played football.

P.V. – Football has been  played by them.

 

    21.                I have written a letter.

P.V. – A letter has been written by me.


    22.                John has written an email.

P.V. – An email has been written by John.

 

    23.              The children have flown kites.

P.V. – Kites have been flown by the children.


    24.                The mechanic has fixed the engine.

P.V. – The engine has been fixed by the mechanic.


    25.                The chef has  prepared the food.

P.V. – The food has been prepared by the chef.
