My dear Father

Received your wonderful letter two days ago. It was wonderful to hear from you. You have asked me about my progress in my studies.

My marks in the last examinations were almost on the margin.

 I have started devoting more time and attention to my studies. I am following a study schedule.

Fortunately, I have a close friend of mine named Mohan Sharma, who is a genius in my class. He is a topper. He has assured me of his full assistance. I am in combined study with him.

I am slowly and steadily progressing now.

Since I am weak in English, could you send me good books, one on grammar and the other on composition?

 I believe that with the right resources and dedicated efforts. I can improve in my studies.
