Now we will draw ray diagram of concave mirror object at F with the help of rules for making ray diagram which we have discussed earlier.
Image formation by concave mirror
Steps to draw to ray diagram
1. Draw the diagram of a concave mirror
2. Place the object at the given position
3. Follow the rules for making a ray diagram
Draw the diagram of a concave mirror
Place the object in the given position
Now we place
the object (↑) at focus point F.
Rules for making ray diagram
A light ray from point ‘A’ of the object incident
parallel to the principal axis on the concave mirror.
The second light ray from the same point (A) incidents
on the mirror at a certain angle (incident ray goes away from the principal axis)
The parallel incident ray passes through the focus
point (F) after reflection.
The second incident ray passes through point C after
reflection.
After reflection, both the reflected rays go parallel
to each other and it seems that they meet at infinity, so the image is formed
at infinity.
