To draw a ray diagram of the concave mirror when the object is at C (centre of curvature), we must follow the rules for making a ray diagram by a concave mirror.
Steps to draw to ray diagram
1. Draw
the diagram of a concave mirror
2. Place
the object at the given position
3. Follow
the rules for making a ray diagram
Draw the diagram of a concave mirror
Place the object at the given position
We have to place an object at C. The Object is an up-arrow (↑).
Follow the Rules for making ray diagram
A light ray from point ‘A’ of the object incident
parallel to the principal axis on the concave mirror.
The second light ray from the same point incident on
the mirror after passing through the focus point (F).
After reflection, the parallel ray passes through the focus point (F) and the second ray becomes parallel.
Both reflected rays
meet at ‘C’ . so the image is formed at C.
The image is real
and inverted and the same size as the object.
