Activity 13.6 Class 8 Science Chapter 13 Solution

Observation and Explanation

When rubber strips are stretched tightly and the air is blown through the gap, the rubber strips begin to vibrate and produce sound.

Similarly, in humans, the sound is produced by the voice box or the larynx. Two vocal cords are stretched across the voice box and there is a slit between two cords. When air passes through the slit, vocal cords start vibrating.

Conclusion

This activity shows that vibrating parts produce sound.
