Activity 13.3 Class 8 Science Chapter 13 Solution |
Observation and explanation
When we strike the metal dish with a spoon, we can hear
sound.
Again, we strike the dish and touch its surface, and we
can feel vibrations.
Now we strike the dish again, and we can see waves in the
water.
When we strike the dish and hold it, we can’t hear a sound, feel a vibration and see waves in the water.
It so happened because waves are produced due to disturbance.
But when we hold the dish, the disturbance stops.
Conclusion
This activity shows the relation between the vibration of
the body and sound. All vibrating bodies produce sound.
