When the slinky is stretched, its shape changes, and when
it is released, it gets its original shape again.
Explanation of activity 11.9 class 9 science
When slinky is stretched, work is done on it and it
acquires potential energy. On releasing, potential energy is used as kinetic energy
and the slinky tries to get its original shape.
When the slinky is compressed, then this time also slinky
acquires elastic potential energy. The work done is compressing it and it gets
converted into its potential energy.
When it is released, it gets its original shape.
