An object may appear to be moving for one and stationary
for another. The wall of our classroom are at rest with respect to other
objects in the room or other objects on the earth.
But when seen from the other planets, these walls are
in motion with earth.
We can understand this activity through the following
examples-
i.
Universe itself is moving and all celestial
bodies are moving.
ii.
The earth is moving around the sun but we
can’t feel its motion.
iii. The
passengers in the moving bus are in motion for a person standing at the roadside but
they are at rest for the other co-passengers.
