Activity 7.1 Class 9 Science Observation

To perform this activity, we have to visit a nearby dairy farm. We can see many types of cows there. All cows belong to one species of Bos indicus (Bos taurus).

We can observe different breeds of cows on the basis of characteristics.

There are two types of cow breeds i.e. local (indigenous or desi) and exotic(foreign).

One of the common exotic breeds is Jersey which is a high milk-yielding breed. It can be distinguished easily by its small size, broad short face, and outwardly curved horns.
