Explanation Activity 5.5 Class 9 Science
Microscope - It is an instrument that magnified objects which can’t be seen with naked eyes. Through simple microscopes and
compound microscopes, we can see magnified images but not completely.
Electron microscope- This uses a beam of accelerated electrons as a source
of illumination and magnifies up to about 10000000 times.
This microscope uses shaped magnetic fields to form an electron
optical lens system.
Electron microscopes are used to investigate the
ultrastructure of a wide range of biological and inorganic specimens including
microorganisms, cells, pathogens, large molecules, biopsy samples, metals, and
crystals.
Modern electron
microscopes produce electron micrographs using specialized digital cameras and
frame grabbers to capture the images.
We can see all organelles of a cell with an electron microscope.
Nowadays, these microscopes are widely used in schools
and colleges.
