Activity 8.5 Class 9 Science
· The
data regarding the motion of two different objects A and B are given in the table.
· Examine
them carefully and state whether the motion of the objects is uniform or non-uniform.
Activity 8.5 Class 9 Science Explanation
In equal time intervals of 15 minutes, object A travels equal distances whereas object B
travels unequal distances.
So, the motion of object A is uniform, and the motion of object
B is non-uniform.
Uniform motion –
A body or object is said to have uniform motion if it travels equal distances
in equal time intervals.
Examples –(i) The movement of the earth around the sun
(ii). The movement of hands of a watch.
Non-uniform motion-
A body or object is said to have nonuniform motion if it travels
unequal distances in equal time intervals.
Examples –(i) A person jogging on the road.
(ii). A bus moving on a hilly track.
Activity 8.5 Class 9 Science Conclusion
