NCERT Activity 14.5 Class 10 Science Sources of Energy |
Explanation –
When we perform the above activity, we found that the conical
flask which was painted black was hotter than the white painted flask. We found the
temperature of the flask painted black was higher.
Every object absorbs light rays of a certain wavelength and
emits light rays of a certain wavelength.
A red ball absorbs all colours and emits the wavelength
of red colour.
So in the case
of black painted flasks, it absorbs all light rays and does not emit any colour,
so the energy of all the light rays makes
it hotter or warmer than any other object.
Conclusion –
A black body or
object absorbs all light rays and does not emit any light rays so it becomes hotter
than any other object.
Application of above activity14.5 in daily life-
· Solar
cooker is painted black from the inside so it absorbs more solar energy and cooks
food very fast.
· We wear
light coloured clothes in the summer season.
· We
painted the walls of our houses with light colour because it reflects more light
and our house remains cool.
