Activity 14.1Class 10 Science


    ·      List four forms of energy that you use from the morning when you wake up till you reach the school

    ·      From where do we get these different forms of energy?

    ·      Can we call these sources of energy? why or why not?


Explanation

We use different kinds of energy from we wake up till we go to sleep. Four forms of energy are as follows-

(i)                      

a.                       In doing work like bathing, putting on clothes, and going to school, we use muscular energy.

b.                       Electric energy is used in lighting.

c.                       Chemical energy is used when we take breakfast. Chemical energy is stored in the breakfast or other food items we eat.

d.                       Fuel energy is used at the time of going to school by bus or another vehicle.

(ii)                  Muscular energy is obtained from the food we eat. Electric energy is obtained from thermal power plants or hydropower plants. The heat energy is obtained from the chemical energy of food. Fuel energy is obtained from fossil fuels like petrol, CNG, etc.

(iii)               Yes, all these forms of energy are obtained from a source. These sources are secondary sources. The sun is the main source of energy on the earth, all these forms of energy are derived from the sun.


Conclusion – Through this activity 14.1 class 10 science, we understand that we use different kinds of energy in our daily life. These forms of energy can be transformed into one another. These all types of energies are obtained from the sun directly or indirectly. The sun is the ultimate source of energy.
