Object – To find Transpiration
in the plants
Material Required –
Two pots filled with soil. Out of them one with plant and the other with a stick,
plastic sheets.
Procedure – 1. we take two
pots filled with soil- One with plant and another without the plant.
2. put a stick in the second pot.
3. cover both pots with a plastic sheet and pour
some water in the pots.
4. Put both the pots covered with plastic sheets for some
time.
Observation –
After some time we notice that some water droplets are present on the plastic
sheet covered on the potted plant while there is no water droplets are seen on
the sheet covered on the stick.
Inference – With
this activity, we can understand what is transpiration?
Transpiration – The
loss of water from the aerial parts of the plants in the form of water vapour
is called transpiration. Transpiration mainly takes place through the stomata
but it may also take place through the surface of the leaves.
