Object - To find the range of Hemoglobin in Human beings and animals
Procedure – According to this
activity, we should visit a nearby health center and find out the range of
hemoglobin.
Hemoglobin is found in the Red blood cells and carries
oxygen from the lungs to the other parts of the body. Lack of hemoglobin causes anemia. The person suffering from anemia looks pale, weak.
Iron-rich food should be taken to increase the level
of hemoglobin.
Observation –
Hemoglobin range varies according to age, sex and region, and species of animals.
Children up to 12 years – 11 – 16g/dl
Adult - 12- 18g/dl
Female – 12-15g/dl
Male -12- 18g/dl
Calves – 10.5g/dl
Cow -10 – 15g/dl
Buffalo – 12-14g/dl
Inference- It
is concluded that the range of hemoglobin in human beings and other animals varies
due to different reasons. The reason may be hormonal, sex or age, or species.
